I would say:
Remember light's angle of incidence =angle of reflection and use it to
your advantage, by being inside or ourside that angle. Don't put the
camera at the back of the room, shoot from one of the sides, preferably
the one facing the lecturer's non-writing arm, this way, they turn 1/2
to 3/4 from the board right into your lens, the board gives their face
a nice bounce fill from that side, but doesn't reflect a hotspot at
you. You have a little more depth of field problem to work with, but
the angled shooting compresses the width of the writing intoa tighter
frame, and if you are focused on the writer, the stuff being written
will tend to also be in focus immediately near them.
