Can you clarify exactly what you are trying to record from? Me thinks there
may be some confusion as to what you think subtitles are or at least how
they are represented...
If you are recording from say a cable/sat tv channel, then no, there is no
subtitling that can be done with a standalone DVD recorder. But if your tv
supports CC(closed captioning), probably called something like teletext in
the UK, you can turn it on/off with the tv remote....it should be preserved
in the recording...
If you are trying to copy a DVD, then the only way to get subtitles would be
to turn them on on the playback device, and they will be permanently
recorded in the picture...
The only way to create a dvd with subtitles would be to rip the original dvd
on your pc, preserving the subtitles in the process...
