For some reason, Epson saw fit to introduce a model R220 and (in foreign
markets) the R230. I have to wonder if it wasn't an effort to resolve
engineering issues with the printer. On their support site a number of
people had reported disc caddy loading problems but it could be an
insignificant number compared to overall sales.
There are apparently different versions of the caddy which can be
identified by version numbers on it. Their tech support finally offered
to send out a newer version of the caddy but never did so.
I may buy another printer and get the R220. I like the print speed and
quality.
