FAT32 is a hard, technical limitation - it cannot be overcome.

Now, if you switch to NTFS (e.g. Windows XP) then you can append the
files together, BUT if you should ever want to transfer them to some
other FAT32 system - well the files will be chopped!

There are some operational advantages to the 1.9Gigabyte (not "2MB")
a.k.a. "2GB" limit ;-)

1. when transferring files, any errors only affect a 2GB file
2. when plaing the files, you can insert 'ads' between them without editing.
3. When going to an NLE the first file takes a few minutes to access,
and the rest of them come in in the background while you edit the first
file. Then the NLE can output a smaller or appended file...
