Sadly, it sounds like you won`t be able to do what you`re looking for.
An alternative might be to ask* if you can save data to a USB memory
stick, and buy one of those... it`ll cost you more in the short term,
but they can be quite useful too !
*they might have locked them down too, preventing access...
