I was googling how to play the music that is stored on my PC using my stereo
receiver and connected speakeres. I saw a post from this group from 2003
about how to adjust the speaker type in the control panel on a Windows XP
Home Edition. I sent an email to the poster but the email address is dead.
I'll try this group to see if I can get some help.
Here was the fragment from the 2003 post that I am trying to learn more
about:
I also told my computer in the control panel that I am connecting to
full speakers (not desktop) and I leave that as my default. I use XP
home edition and it has that choice.
I looked around in the Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices control panel. I
don't see any option there for full speakers. Can anyone tell me more? I
clicked advanced under speaker settings. There is a drop down list in the
window that opens up called "Speaker Setup". In the drop down list I don't
see anything like "full speakers". I see Quadraphonic, Surround Sound, and a
few others but not full speakers.
I would appreciate any help someone from this group can give me.
TIA
Dick Snyder
