There are situations out there, for one reason or another, where the
Apple solution has gone south. Every car manufacturer puts out some
lemons. I'm sorry for any facility when a substantial investment in
hardware and software is problematic, no matter what the platform. It
just hurts productivity and raises blood pressure.
Overall, Macs had the lowest rate of IT issues and the lowest rate of
repair in the industry. Final Cut Studio overall offers more "bang for
the buck" than Avid, but again, if your setup didn't work, I can
completely understand why you would have made other arrangements.
