Apple is doing a fantastic job of debunking its old Benchmarks.

Go Here: http://www.digitalproducer.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=38816

Macbook Pro (i.e. A dual core PC laptop) is as fast as a Dual G5
Workstation. The Core Duo processor isn't much more than two Pentium M
processors on a chip. I remember recently current (i.e. before the switch)
Apple benchmarks showing all flavour of G5 thrashing Xeon and Opterons
alike.

You are right Nap the experiment could fail but one could consider the
reliance on barefaced bullshit to sell computers an absolute failure. The
only surprise is that it took them so long to work it out particularly as
they had OSX built for x86 for many a year.

Can Apple deal with PC users expectations? If someone buys the desktop Mac
PC then six months down the line they want to upgrade the graphics card will
they be able to? A pretty simple task by anyone's standard. Will Apple be
in a situation to support drivers for new hardware? You can bet your life
that the other bootable operating system on that computer will be able
to.....If Jobs is serious about gaining market share then the answer has to
be yes. Is he serious though? By definition cults never gain mainstream
acceptance.
