The last Chyron I worked with was a Duet, and it was standard Chyron
ergonomics, which I was already familiar with, standard outboard CG.
In the NLE domain, I guess I was spoiled by Inscriber. A complete
novice could pull down a template list, sample several, "overtype" and
get a nic shrp overlay in about 30 seconds.
FCP's built-in has no templates, a crappy shadow and NO borders.
Live-Type and Boris are good, but you need quite a few keystrokes to
get them on the timeline. Maybe it's just me, learning a new way of
working.
And Live-Type has great animations, but I just want a nice, sharp,
static lower third! I just had a rookie edit a comedy show, and every
one of his CGs comes "dancing" in. Yecchhhh.
