| I've currently got a Samsung 950 POS hooked up to my glass plasma, but I'm
| sick of it not switching aspect ratio using the HDMI output. I know there
| is no trigger via the HDMI, but are there any DVD players that will modify
| the output automatically for 4:3 stuff? The Samsung has a manual butting,
| but you have to press it 3 times to get it to 4:3 and it will also reset
| after that video stream, so if you're watching extras on a DVD that are
all
| in 4:3 and are small and bitty, you get a bit pissed at constantly
pressing
| this soddin' button!
I never quite understood the obsession with automatic aspect switching. Sure
its nice, and a good bi-product of the Scart age (when it works!), but how
hard is it to switch the ratio manually for gods sake? You only need to do
it once when watching a film, and how often do people sit down and go
through ALL the special features on a disc?
Sorry to be awkward here, but its just something that is hardly a major
problem, for anybody other than the clinically bone-idle!!
