Dunno about "crap old", but there definately are mistakes.
Ive just got back from Florida, where I was using TomTom 5. In
Orlando, it was pretty good and had no problems. (It was excellent to
be able to look through a list of items such as specific shops or
restaurants etc. No worries about speed cameras there!)
However, we went to visit friends further south in a place called
"Jupiter". New roads and housing are being built almost daily. BUT, it
kept trying to send me on roads that didnt exist and to shops that
didnt exist at a particular location. Not so good! I havent however
found that to be the case in the UK - not that I use it much here.
One v big advantage with using a PDA rather than the GPS specific
devices is the "other uses". I use mine for all sorts of
stuff.....movies, photos etc as well as the normal organiser stuff. If
those wouldnt be useful and the GPS specific are much cheaper, then
that sounds a better option. But if they might be, its worth bearing
in mind!
