Looking good for Home Cinema PCs

I f they have a good budget one I may resurect the old living room PC
connected to my plasma.
I winder what the PC resolution is like as i currently can't seem to
get my PC to connect to my Pioneer 43" using native res via DVI. As
far as i know it can't.
Mind you i would be as happy with something like the Kiss net player
with HDMI out and connectivity for an external hard drive
