So you charge it from your car charger (or wall charger), as you would
with 99% of the other MP3 players on the market. The requirement for a
car charger isn't limited to the iPod.... most other players would need
one, too. As I recall, iPods come with a wall charger anyway.

Mine's nearly 2.5 years old and is still fine. It's never been in a case
or had a screen protector.

Can't see why that's an issue, since I have almost all my music
collection already on the iPod. Well, it's not an issue unless you're
saying that you pirate music from friends.
