I have a wide-screen LCD display of 32" manufactured by BENQ, which
serves as my PC monitor. When I watch certain DVD movies from my PC (no
matter if from a DVD drive or a hard disk) with slow panning scenes,
the scene variation on the screen appears uneven, I would say a bit
jerky. For comparison, I connected a stand-alone DVD player to the same
display and watched the same scenes, and they were quite smooth. (One
does not see theis effect in swift panning scenes, because they are
anyway smeared out.) My PC, though not new, does meet the decoding
software (PowerDVD) requirements: it has an Intel Pentium IV 1.8 GHz
processor, 256 MB of memory (with 266 MHz speed), and an Intel
motherboard of 400 MHz. The video graphics card is very new: it is
NVIDIA GeForce FX-55 with 256 MB memory and DVI output. What can be the
source of this unevenness?
