I have never seen this before

Doing a bit of tidying up today I came to delete an empty directory and
found that I couldn't - something about it being used by another program
which it wasn't because nothing else was running. I even tried to get rid of
it through DOS (!) and although you could see the directory this wouldn't
work. I even downloaded one of those security overwiper programs and that
wouldn't get rid of it. It's not a major problem but it does bug me

Any ideas anyone?
