How long & what characters can a DVD title legally contain?
I always back up my DVDs without the trailer garbage as I can't stand
looking for a remote just so I can see a movie without agonizing through
utterly useless minutes of trailers, warnings, and menus.
My DVD backup program always asks for a DVD TITLE.
I notice the original titles are always UPPER CASE and often short
abbreviations so I'm always worried that I'll break some rule.
But, there must be rules. For example, I just had a DVD fail that I had
titled "Pride & Prejudice" but I don't know if that's the reason it failed.
What are the rules for DVD titles?
a) How long can a dvd title be (how many characters)?
b) Must a dvd title always be in upper case only?
c) What characters are legal characters?
d) Are spaces allowed?
e) Can I leave the title blank?
Where do we find a simple summary of DVD title rules?
