Hi Ken Maltby,
Sorry for not giving the correct information for you to help me.
I am using IBM ThinkPad Sonic RecordNow Business Edition Version 7 on
Windows XP Service Pack 2 to burn the DVD to a Sony DVD burner. To burn the
"Pride & Prejudice" DVD, I first used DVD Shrink 3.2 to copy the DVD to my
hard drive and then I used the Sonic RecordNow to burn it by pressing the
"Data Disc" button. The burn failed and I was wondering if it was due to
the name I gave the DVD when the Sonic Record Now did the burn.
You are right. The thing I was inaccurately calling a 'title' is actually
called a "Volume Label" in the Sonic RecordNow program.
So, my question is really:
What are the rules for DVD "Volume Labels"?
a) How long can a dvd Volume Label be (how many characters)?
b) Must a dvd Volume Label always be in upper case only?
c) What characters are legal characters in a DVD Volume Label?
d) Are spaces allowed in a DVD Volume Label?
e) Can I leave the DVD Volume Label blank?
Where are the simplified rules for DVD Volume Labels?
