 Thanks for the reply. But I was not really interested in editorial
 comment on the validity of HDMI. I have seen it myself and
 find it acceptable. So whether HDMI is a joke in your humble
 opinion (or not) was not part of the info I am seeking advice on.

 Maybe not interested in this as I have no interest in repurchasing
