Even though my position on shipping a camera is quite clear, ("I have
never, ever shipped a camera" .... when I could hand carry it) I have
absolutely no problems complying with emergency conditions, that even
though they are at the very most an inconvenience, they are there for
the safety of all crew members and passengers.
I would home that if someone is carrying a professional grade camera
(especially if they are working in some capacity for a news oriented
organization) that they would have had the where with all to at some
point turned on a TV or radio before leaving home. (But, that is
actually way to optimistic)
On the other hand, if ALL electronic devices are to be stowed with the
checked luggage, I welcome that declaration with open arms because I
am sick and tired of being subjected to increasing number of
inconsiderate morons who don't know how to talk on a cell phone
without including at least ten rows around them on their side of the
conversation (cell phones don't put your voice in the
speaker).......... while waiting for the main doors to be closed.
