So, you are asking for finished spec spots where the producer /
production company foots all the expenses. IE: Crew cost location
fees, talent fees (oh THAT could open a whole new can of worms with
reps, markets and buy outs) THEN, send that unprotected work to you so
you can shop it around to .........who knows where............ where
bits and pieces can possibly be copied and used without the producer's
knowledge and before the producer actually sees a return on his or her
investment. And as we all know, a finished spot can range from just
the cost of the tape to thousands of dollars.
In addition to finished spots, you are also asking for producers /
production companies and individuals to either open up their stock
footage libraries to you for free or help you build one of your own
without you actually paying for it.
Why don't you (as a company) step up and just buy the spots or footage
that you see as having good investment potential directly from the
producers / production companies / or individuals with the
understanding that you own the copyright or have a licensing agreement
imbedded in the payment?
If you want to start a business, please step up to the plate and use
you own capitol, not our property.
