Have tried this post in Windows Media Player group with no response.
Not an active group.
I am making a CD version of a DVD training video. I made a 640 x 480
stand alone Media player version; and tested it on a few computers,
worked fine. However,
the client was having trouble with the Media Player emerging in a
"docked" position at the lower left of the screen. Also she says the
screen is tiny. Her screen resolution is at 1024x768 yet she says the
player window is now larger than three inches. She says she can
enlarge it to full screen but I know that does not look good.
1. The client's representative is not that computer savy. (She's in
Texas. I'm in Seattle.) She says she
can undock it but it is still very small. She then blows it up to full
screen though of course it degrades the image. Is there a setting to
change so that it does not come up in a "dock" configuration? I have
never seen the player come up in a "docked" position. Google says it
happens. She is using Windows Media Player 9.
2. In order to get around the resizing and docking issues, I proposed
to embed the video.
3. The video is currently set up to play the entire video or to play
"chapters." The entire version plays fine. But I am not sure if it is
possible to cue to a certain point in the video. Do you know?
4. Would it be better to use another medium: Flash or Camtasia/Flash?
5. The audience is international. No telling what kind of
configuration. I am told that embedded WMV players are cranky when it
comes to different configurations. ?
Ideas, anyone?
