If you see a DVCAM deck, it will say "DVCAM".
It may or may not also say "mini-DV", but it will
likely play mini-DV.

Sony can use their existing tooling for 8mm camcorders
while enjoying the benefit of the same digital peformance
as DV. Consumers can get equipment which will read
their old 8mm and Hi-8 tapes while having a digital
camcorder.
