"Verbatim" is just a label. They don't make discs, they OEM
them from the vendor-du-jour. You never know who made
them from one order to the next.

I have been using exclusively Taiyo-Yuden DVD+R and burning
at 2x. I have had zero returns from that combination. DVD-R may
be as good, but my laptop drive does only +R, so it is more convienent
for me. :-) Whenever I try using a brand other than T-Y, I start getting
complaints and returns. It is worth the (literally) few extra pennies
for T-Y. I also buy my T-Y discs exclusively from Supermediastore
as some other vendors have been caught charging for T-Y but then
shipping an inferior brand (or counterfeit T-Y).
