Actually, not to keep the flaming going, but he is correct in using the
pronoun "me." "I" is to be used as a subject, "me" in the predicate.
There are no independent clauses that would cause the first person to
be the subject of the phrase, just simple "Subject+verb+predicate."
Also, I don't know if it's a PC thing or grammar rule, but I have been
taught in formal writing (and this has been in the last 5 years, not
50) that "his or her" is correct. It sounds awkward, I know, and I
hate that. Now, in the Spanish language, using the masculine forms is
completely accepted. If there is one male standing with a group of
females then all adjectives refer to them in the masculine form.
Not trying to flame, and I am glad to have you here, Roy. It's great
to have such an accomplished professional in the group, no matter how
many mistakes you have made. :) It's a welcome relief from the
explanations of DI's and basic signal flow (the reason I left this
group several months ago).
