In short, if you like LCD images and it's connected up correctly then
it's absolutely great when it works - given the price - but some of the
TVs people have received have weird bands down the sides the screen that
look rubbish.
There's no way of knowing what percentage of the TVs have the banding
problems, especially as people with them are going to make the noise and
the people without them will stay quiet.
Oh, and maybe look elsewhere if you want to run a computer through it -
I think it only handles non-widescreen video modes over VGA, oddly. You
can't just set your PC to 1366x768 and have it display on the TV. That
would just make too much sense...
Anyway, caveats aside, I really like mine. Watched Chicago on it using
an HDMI connection from a cheap upscaling Samsung DVD player last night
and it looked great. I think the picture just looks awesome, generally.
I am slightly disappointed with the VGA issue, but I don't have a
computer to put into it at the moment. I'd probably buy this TV again -
having two HDMI ports is a real bonus and I really love the picture -
despite that.
