Apparently this Century was designed for the FX1 and Z1. Don't forget
it's bayonet mount, so it won't fit any other camera that I know of. It
was optimized, but following a criteria I don't know much about.
Century also offers a .7x type (not sold by B&H), also bayonet, which
is double the .6x price. They share another thing, besides the bayonet
mount: they are considered HD quality by Century, so I'd say they are
far from being "generic".

Maybe the .6x grade is a bit too much for this Z1's Zeiss lens and .7x
is the limit before you enter the "distortion area". Maybe that's why
Sony made theirs a .8x
The VCL-MHG07 is not the same as the VCL-HG0872. The latter being
heavier and threaded are probably my greatest setback.
