Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of BONESETTER RETURNS / FINAL CURTAIN,
CRUTCH, LATIN NIGHTS, SLAUGHTER OF THE VAMPIRES, SPIDER FOREST, and A
STRANGER IS WATCHING:
BONESETTER RETURNS / FINAL CURTAIN (reviewed by David Johnson, overall
score 69/100):
"Writer/director/producer Brett Kelly is one hard-working Canuck. The
guy churns out these flicks on an annual basis, though if Final Curtain
-- a film shot in five days -- is indicative of the workload, he might
actually be underachieving."

CRUTCH (reviewed by Patrick Bromley, overall score 69/100):
"Writer/director Moretti's screenplay is, at times, so personal that
it does a disservice to the movie; it ceases to be a story and becomes
a problem-by-problem account of just how screwed up he was for a
while. Scene after scene, the narrative degenerates into a repetitive
pattern: David drinks, David fights with someone, David cries, David
does drugs, repeat."

LATIN NIGHTS (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall score 45/100):
"I'm not sure who the target demographic for this DVD is supposed to be.
Audiophiles will be repelled by the dreadful sound quality (does digital
remastering actually mean anything?), and fans of the music can find
more impressive recordings elsewhere."

SLAUGHTER OF THE VAMPIRES (reviewed by Steve Evans, overall score
60/100):
"Here's a real pain in the neck for the bad-movie gang: a badly dubbed
Italian horror flick replete with gorgeous female vampires, their
heaving bosoms not quite spilling out of their nightgowns. Every aspect
of the production screams overwrought melodrama."

SPIDER FOREST (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall score 68/100):
"Confusing or not, Spider Forest is definitely well made. The direction
is assured, and the cinematography is stunning."

A STRANGER IS WATCHING (reviewed by Dan Mancini, overall score 65/100):
"The sixth of Sean S. Cunningham's films, A Stranger Is Watching has the
distinction of being wedged between the director's bogeyman classic
Friday the 13th and his tepid '80s sex farce, Spring Break. Largely
forgotten, it's actually better than either of its neighbors in
Cunningham's canon -- maybe even be the best effort of the director's
career -- though it's a long, long way from being a lost classic."
