Just like Cal Worthington Ford (LA) and Art Grindel Dodge (Orlando)(later
Art Grindel Wheel Ranch) and the zany commercials back when most CBS
affiliates ran a late movie every night (before Letterman, Griffin, Sajack
etc). They were sponsored by auto dealerships all over American, but none
gathered the fame quite like Cal Worthington and his dog Spot, and Art
Grindel beating the crap out of a car with a sledge hammer so he could knock
$500 from the price. Theses commercials were the basis of Used Cars,
according to Bob Zemeckis and Bob Gale on the audio commentary.
I noticed it too, but I would have chosen the kinder, gentler Luke Fuchs.
Those were the days, my friends...
