A neighbor reports that some have arrived unplayable.

On the whole, though, it's probably cheaper for NF to
replace an occasional DVD than to upgrade the shipping
(particularly since they are presently a 1st Class Flat,
and FC Parcel is about to get more expensive).

The problem isn't the risk to the CD (or DVD), it's that
without careful packing, the jewel case WILL break, and
will annoy the buyer, moreso if the JC itself was custom
to the title.

Back when I was moving CDs on eBay, I did it this way:
<http://www.access-one.com/rjn/auctions/cd-ship.html>

If the buyer wanted to skip the JC to save on shipping,
I'd send it in a Discons (www.discons.com ->eBay for
small quantities, lacontainer.com for mass quantities).

Bending and dings from adjacent mail can inflict quite
sufficient damage. If the CD/DVD is rare/valuable, protect it.
