I heard all this from the naysayers before I started.
It does work in fact just as I had hoped.
You are right about the other options, but your idea of cheap and mine are
slightly different.
Outside the room, and thru the house, it only sounds as loud as a loud
stereo with the door closed, which is as good as I needed.
Where does it say that I was looking to soundproof the way you indicate?

And it limited enough of the reflections to make it a great recording space.
As for the look, I will be spraypainting some flourescent designs on them
shortly which will look fine under black lights.

Naysayers are a dime a dozen.
I have always been a pragmatist, and what works works.
I don't care about appearances, and as far as I can tell, its mission
accomplished.
