Try sound board insdtead. It's about $8 for a 4 foot by 8 foot at the
home builder places and it works like a charm.
Check out what I did with my studio. The sound board is covered with
black material that I got from the $1 rack at walmart. The wood is
roofing that acost about $70 a bundle and the one wall is about 2
bundles - smells great, sounds better:-) and taks less time to put up.
My last studio I put up drywal, soundboard, 2" airspace, soundboard and
it dropped more then 38dB between booth and outside.
