Sony experienced a drop in revenue of 94% for the current fiscal year -
mainly blamed on the PS3's late launch and other problems. Their other
platform, the PSP, also hasn't been doing as well.

If they were really making that much money from their other ventures, then
the PS3's problems wouldn't be affecting them so badly, right?
Look, the competition in the consumer electronics market is very brutal.
Companies are lucky if they're making 5% on each sale of a TV. Seriously.
The PC market is even tighter - with margins going under 2-3% even with
Sony's ridiculously overpriced hardware!
