Yeah, GAMES ON THEIR SYSTEMS. So you can ya ya ya ya ya all you like
about this BluRay cheerleading. Sony doesn't get a cut of movies made,
certainly not like games. So if BluRay succeeds and people don't buy
games for the PS3, the success of BluRay buries Sony particularly if
people buy it to watch movies. Well, maybe then dedicated BluRay only
players will get cheaper than the PS3, and therefore, prove to make the
PS3 not sold to watch BluRay movies.
In the mean time, Microsoft holds even with Sony, they bleed less red
ink, or make a profit in fact, and Sony loses, and is dead and buried.
Maybe in your world an increase in sales of items that are a loss per
sale makes a profit. But in reality here, it means you go broke.
