Thank you for the reply Alan. I found this at an Amateur Radio Flea
Market, purchased it as is for $15 US. The techronics mulitmod manual
was included and it was modified with the Microchip Chip 12C508 from
www.techtronics.com, which appears to be out of this business? I'm no
expert but have some knowledge of electronics. I presume the chip is
bad as a region 1 DVD will play without the chip. The chip is readily
available but without the firmware it is useless to replace it. I'll
just cut my losses and use it as a CD player or burn a DVD if I get
desperate. I appreciate your taking time to help.
