1. I would like it to be HD-DVD as I despise Sony's constant attempts to
confuse issues by inventing their own formats, which coincidentally then let
them make money out of other people's hard work and sales. Other factors
that help HD-DVD are that stand alone BR players are twice the price of
HD-DVD; HD-DVD is currently region free; It's cheaper to produce HD-DVD
discs as the existing DVD pressing plants can make them; HD-DVD combo discs
are available so people can start building a HD collection they can play now
in standard def before they move to HD; and Sony have recently said that BR
pressing plants will not be allowed to press porn - they've just nailed
their own coffin with that one. Porn is a huge factor in driving consumer
demand in any new format and Sony have just forced everyone who wants it
over to HD-DVD.

2. If things stay the way they are now, eventually a standalone HD-DVD
player, but the price of decent displays and players has to drop a long way
first. For now I'm perfectly happy with DVD and CRT until LCD gets it's act
together and stops looking shit.

3. I'll just buy new stuff in HD (about 2 a month is my current rate) and
upgrade a few favourites.
