Yes, most interesting, it does look to be an advance on what's currently
available. If a person is satisfied with the idea of carrying around just
one camera that gives reasonable (but not professional quality) stills and
movies, it's quite hard to decide whether it's better to buy a still camera
that provides only a relatively short time for movies, or whether it's
better to go for a camcorder (such as an AVHCD one) that also gives, say, 4
megapixel stills. I suppose if you want a very small camera, and your main
interest is still pictures, then a camera, such as the Canon PowerShot TX1
would be an ideal choice.

But if your main interest is movies, then an AVHCD one that gives 4 mp
stills may be the way to go. But as soon as the capacity of a memory card
increases to the point where you can record, say, 2 hours of continuous high
quality video, then the days of tapes, DVDs, and hard drives will surely be
numbered.
