You're the only ome who can decide which version you need.
There's a Vegas family comparison at http://tinyurl.com/2pwqns
and an Acid family comparison at http://tinyurl.com/2v9txy

BTW, Boomboom is wrong about the Platinum version.
It offers 5.1 surround and stereo AC-3 encoding.
Vegas Movie Studio+DVD doesn't and that's the primary difference between the
two.
However, if you want to do 5.1 surround mixing (and want/need more than just
4 tracks each of audio and video), you'll need the full version of Vegas+DVD
Architect.
The best package price I've seen is at http://www.cwol.com/ who has it
(after rebate) for $350.00 (U.S.).
Be advised that this special price ends on Wed. Feb. 28.
