Only tangentially. I devote little effort to keeping up with the
specialty cameras such as the Grass Valley Infinity, Dalsa Origin,
Kinetta, Red One, etc. I know what they are, what they're capable of
in a general sense, but nothing much beyond that, preferring to
concentrate instead on more commonly used equipment, more mainstream
gear.

I hate to ask dumb questions, but since your client seems to be fairly
particular about the equipment used, I have to wonder whether you have
asked them directly as to which cameras would be acceptable to them?
They may already have a specific "approved list" for you to choose
from. That would make your shopping easier, I would think.
