Can you clarify what format the video tapes are?

a) If they are indeed a true analog format, than yes the Canopus is a
great transition tool for converting analog to digital.

b) If the tapes are digital, than your best bet is to copy over from
digital and avoid the analog.

c) What kind of players, system do they have in there private facility?
