Yes, if the tapes (and equipment) are in good shape. OTOH, if either
is marginal, the OP may seriously need some timebase correction(?)

If the tapes are 30 years old, it seems unlikely that they were
digital of any type.

Indeed. That would at least help him prepare for what kind of
connectors/adapters, etc. he needs to interconnect.
