You were right about the creation of alt.video.dvd in Oct 95
(congratulations, you got one right, mea culpa), but most (all ?)
other DVD groups appear to have been created in 1998.

I suggest you acquaint yourself with the respective charters, or are
you going to claim that the above posts were made by trolls, too?

aus.dvd was created in March 98:
http://groups.google.com/group/aus.dvd/msg/c5f7525f1aeb44bb?dmode=source&hl=en

Its original charter, posted by the convenor of the group, is here:
http://groups.google.com/group/aus.dvd/msg/f2c77e67ab9d2067?dmode=source&hl=en

"Limited commercial information is permitted but NO [the author's
emphasis, not mine] commercial advertising. Permitted info is limited
to info regarding the location of Web sites etc relating to DVD
software and Hardware."

Notice that the charter specifically says "NO commercial advertising",
read NO SALESMART COMM CRAP. My posted links to various computer fairs
constitute "[permitted] info regarding the location of Web sites etc
relating to DVD software and Hardware" and are therefore legitimate,
just as they are in EVERY other newsgroup ever created.

In fact I'll now permit myself to direct Australian buyers to 23
Australian vendors of the Pioneer DVR - 112D, all of whom sell it for
less than the AU$55 that SalesMart is touting, with some as low as
AU$44:

"Blank and white" sounds like an empty page to me. That would explain
your very selective memory. It's odd how you were able to recall the
creation date for alt.video.dvd, and you claim to remember the very
first post to aus.dvd, but you conveniently ignore or forget about
anything that you disagree with, including the contents of the said
post.

Just one more thing. An unmoderated group has no moderator.
