If lighting is to be done well, you should bone up on the basics by reading
up on it. You'll need to understand about lighting ratios, and the theory
of using light to sculpt your talent. Then experiment for the best effect
based on what you can afford to throw in.
Since you mention using chromakey, you will need to either invest in
a sophisticated backdrop/ringlight chromakey system (can't remember
the outfit right now), or go completely flat lighting , a well evenly lite
background, and a SEG or software to create the illusion.
These are 2 different camps of lighting.
