Ah. I see. OTARD doesn't apply here as we don't have the same sorts of
rights in Canada. I have explicit permission from my landlord to
have the small dishes mounted in the yard as well as a cable run up to the
roof of the house then down the side of the building. I've bundled up the
cable very nicely to follow the cable that the <insert Canadian DBS
installer here> hack ran... he did a horrible job IMO. He could've been a
lot smarter about running the cabling.... anyhow.

For the average renter or strata-complex owner, they're pretty much SOL
unless they can hide the satellite dish. Most stratas prohibit small
dishes. Heck, I even got a $125 fine for putting my bike on the balcony!
(this was a few years back at an old place. It's safe to say that I avoid
strata complexes like the plague.)

Of course, it helps that I installed a dish and provided an FTA receive so
he can watch his ethnic programming. That is really what sealed the deal.

But I was pointing a 30" at G25 in January and the performance was
marginal. I pointed the 30" elsewhere for him and he's getting his
programming, but I'm going to look into upgrading that dish and pointing
it back at G25.
