Hi Don,

Good to see you! Thank you for the links, I'm going to read the
articles presently. I'm trying to figure out the best
alternatives I have. DSL is cheaper, but I hate losing the
uplink bandwidth I have with cable. Plus, with DSL, my
experience (with Verizon, which used to be great for binaries) is
that they require you to install annoying software to use it.

There is at least one other cable company in my area, but I need
to do some research before I decide if it's worth switching. The
Comcast download speeds are much faster than DSL. My only
complaint is with the upload bandwidth, which was one of the
reasons I wanted cable in the first place.

But my upload bandwidth stabilized and became relatively normal
an hour or two after I posted about it yesterday. I'll have to
see how long it takes before they throttle it again.

Anyway, Happy upcoming Birthday! I hope it's a great one, and I
wish you many, many healthy, happy returns!

Gail
