Ok I'm not in the US, but why not just programe a multi remote for your DVR?
if that's all that's wrong with it?
My guess on it's demise would be beer/coffee spilled in it? (Unless it's
something totaly weird and un mentionable ;-)
Just help me out for a second, what's a DVR? are we talking DVD recorder?
or what we call a PVR with hard drive etc.?
(Two countries seperated by a common language)
If you're suffering with the demise of stand alone DVD recorders, be advised
that some of the latest PVRs are starting to ship with recorders built in
(in the UK anyway)..
As for the Tivo, can you not opt out of the fee based programme guide?
