I am a bit paranoid, but I only record to DVD+R single layer using TY
discs. I want my DVD collection to last a good amount of time, and I
feel SL disk is more 'reliable' than DL disk, because the laser has to
burn something on top of something else seems a bit flaky to me.
Started in 2004 and all my discs are still playable fine on every
player I've tried. I do need to split a lot of movies using DVDFab
since I want to retain the highest image quality, but I find the
hassle far outweighs the possibility of losing all my data in a few
years. A lot of movies, when you strip out all the other junk, fits on
a DVD5 just fine.
