I hear ya. I was just comparing to about 20 years ago: Back then, most
every big event was done either live or live-to-tape, and many of us
developed skills for this. But there were far fewer production
centers.

Today, there are more production centers - networks, basically, and a
lot of this is done live or LTT. But NLEs have certainly made their
presence felt. I mentioned that I taught a class in live directing,
because there was a demand for it. But today, there is much less call
for that sort of education. Now, it is peer-to-peer.
