Update: have gone with the HVR-A1U. Played with a bit, seems a good
machine. Making my decisions now about what mics to bring along.
Oh, not sure if anyone is watching this thread anymore, but I've one
more question: can anyone recommend a good, light tripod to use with
this? I want something that is under 2 pounds in weight. I won't be
doing many pans and swivels so just a sturdy, light tripod will do.
Don't want to spend more than $100.
