Obviously not. I have been in TV for a long time too.
I built the high brightness, daylight viewable, 6" diagonal, GREEN
gun (Thompson)(was orig for an F4 Phantom) monitors that are mounted
on every steady cam used by hollywood. It has frame boxes hard wired
into the display electronics that shows the same frame the camera
operator would see (a wide frame box), were he (or she) looking into
the camera's viewfinder (which they cannot do).
They look down at the monitor while doing a steady cam shot, and
past the monitor to see where to walk (or run).
6" display, $6000. Goes onto a $70,000 steady cam apparatus.
