I certainly have no problem with professionals who are acting
professional, but looking down on consumers and the equipment
they may find useful, calling them "idiots" or worse, doesn't fit my
definition of professionalism. Taking the position that a camera
suited to "family vacations" should be disposable, and must be
looked at as unacceptable junk, because it doesn't match up to
an expensive "professional" camera, is snobbish in my opinion.
Not everyone can buy a camera as a depreciable capital expense.

There are plenty of pros that post here to aid and support, all
who come to this newsgroup, Frank and Gary Bettan are good
examples, you don't see them putting posters down because they
don't have a professional interest in video.
